The Weekend Update
Thursday night went to grab a nice galbi meal by myself.  Practiced my Korean.  Ended up with one pound of Galbi meat on my grill.  Two things came of this.  I may become a vegetarian again and I need to practice my Korean more. Walked home and had a massive bug land on my shirt.  I swatted at it and cussed like a sailor only to look up and see a very old Korean women just standing and staring...

Sainsbury's Rolls out Kinetic Energy Generator →
Sainsbury’s supermarket in the UK has placed Kinetic energy generator’s in the parking lot of a new large store.  Apparently it will produce enough energy to run all the store’s checkout stands (30kw an hour) and will pay for itself in two years.   Sounds like a great idea and I am surprised that this has not be used more often in other places and businesses.  Why not have...

Getting up to Speed →
NY times piece on CA high speed train travel.  I just finished it and it is a fantastic article.  This in-depth look into CA High speed train travel details the aspirations of the various transportation authorities and the very real issues that California faces.  And in the end you even get some cartographer theory. (“Time Space maps” who knew?)  For me the project seems incredibly...

Terrible Dreams
I had 4-5 horrible dreams last night. After I would wake up and then fall back asleep,  I never went straight into the same terrible one, but kept dreaming about slightly different but equally disturbing stuff.  I had never been so happy as I was when my alarm went off.

A news story gone awry.  This plays out like an awkward comedy bit which would be fine if it was not a feel-good morning news show.

Tweeting too hard →
A fantastic website dedicated to exposing ‘tweets’ that are nothing more than self serving pieces of drivel.   Some of my favorites “Girl at the gym was checking me out, I could tell she wanted me. A Philly 8, but she had sweaty arm pits. I don’t date girls that sweat.”* “Girl at store said my perfect smile made her weekend. Wonder if she recognized me or was...
